Before installing
Version 0.6.1 targets Forever beta 1.60.1.70205, Interface 16001. Automated tests use Lua API mocks; a real client test is still required. Back up the old addon and SavedVariables.
Extract the addon
Extract ForeverWoWExport.zip to Interface/AddOns. The result must contain ForeverWoWExport/ForeverWoWExport.toc. Replace the old folder, restart the client and run /foreverwow status outside combat. Do not change the TOC to hide a build mismatch.
Capture and review
Run /foreverwow export, copy the complete JSON and paste it into My character → Load export. Review identity, capture date, equipped items and unavailable sections. Version 3 reports client capabilities and cache states. Exports are limited to 256 KiB UTF-8.
Confirm the import
Matching characters are updated without losing plans or wishlist. Older captures extend history; repeated captures are deduplicated. Unknown IDs remain stored without invented stats. Unavailable slots retain older data with explicit provenance; an empty slot removes equipment.
Wishlist and privacy
Export your item wishlist from My plans and run /foreverwow import. Preview before confirming replacement. Wishlist markers do not imply an upgrade. The addon sends no HTTP requests and performs no gameplay actions. Profiles are private until you create a revocable share link.
Appearance limitations
JSON cannot transfer an in-game model frame or establish character ownership. Use your screenshot or an independently obtained, self-contained GLB. A supplied model is marked partial unless its exact appearance has been verified against the capture.
